The RADICAL way to learn all 2,136 Joyo Kanji without confusing similar looking characters! Most learn the characters by repetition but this app will transform your study with an innovative three-pronged approach to learning and mastering Kanji. First, the 2,136 Kanji are sorted by their Japanese radicals. We removed about 20 ancient radicals that are no longer used and created several new pivot radicals that are relevant to mastering modern kanji. KanjiPivot allows you to easily pivot any element, radical, or pivot radical in any kanji character and generates a new set kanji cards that have that same element or radical. You can study them as individual kanji for maximum focus, a deck of cards that you can sort and test your knowledge, or as a list of characters with the same radical that you can sort by their readings, number of strokes, or their family grouping. Never confuse similar looking kanji again. And easily find other Kanji with the same standard radical or pivot radical and watch your kanji learning speed increase.

All Kanji are essentially 214 little radicals combined in many different ways. Radicals are useful because they hint at a kanji’s meaning and pronunciation. They help you break down complex kanji into manageable radicals instead of a bunch of strokes. Because Kanji are usually a combination of several radicals, KP allows you to PIVOT to the alternative (pivot) radical from that kanji and creates a new set of cards sorted by the pivot radical. We have deleted out the old useless radicals and added some new ones for a total of 600 radicals that will help you master the 2,136 Kanji!

The cards provide you with the basic information that you would normally have on a study card, but you can stretch open any card and get detailed grade and radical of the kanji. You can touch to go to a webpage with detailed uses & sentence examples of that kanji. On the back you can view the Enligh translation of the kanji. The end result is a very satisfying and rewarding study experience, something not available on most kanji study apps.
